Finding games that aren't lame for a New Year's Eve party can be hard, thats why I've gathered 5 fun ideas to ring in the New Year right!

No one hates a boring New Years Eve party more than me. That's why I've gathered a list of exciting activities you and your loved ones can all get into. Ranging from resolutions to competitive party-game ideas to keep your guests entertained all night long. Check it out below.

5 New Years Eve party game ideas

1. Create a Resolution Wall

Everyone knows thinking of a resolution -and keeping it- can be hard. What better way to encourage your guests to be the best version of themselves in 2020 than by creating a resolution wall where people can take turns writing and pinning up their resolutions for the New Year. Want to take it a step further? Include a best 2019 memory section to spark some conversations and catch up more with your loved ones. Want to get even more intense? Leave your names off the paper and go through each one, trying to predict who's resolution is which!

2. 2020 Prediction Game

Ask each guest to write down one prediction they have for 2020 on a piece of paper without signing their name. This could be anything from predicting a friends engagement to guessing the winner of the next presidential election. Put each paper into a New Years hat and take turns pulling out the predictions and guessing who was the one to write it. Keep the predictions for your next New Years Eve party and find out who has some potential fortune-telling skills.

3. Pass the Hat

A simple game but intense game- and all you need is a New Year’s hat. Have everyone sit in a circle and attempt to pass the hat from head to head without using their hands. If a player drops the hat, they leave the circle. The last player left wins the hat or another small prize. Remember, to get creative and don't be afraid to have fun with it. When I played with friends we had people using everything from their feet, to mouths, to butts to bump the hat off.

P.S. This game gets funnier to play after people have had a few drinks to warm them up.

4. Collecting a Kiss

A big part of New Year’s Eve is that midnight kiss. This kissing game ends at midnight, a perfect time to do so, or just before the end of your party. As people arrive at the beginning of the night, hand each woman five to ten Hershey Kisses. Let the men who attend your party know the goal is to collect as many Hershey Kisses as they can during the party. The competition can get fierce and entertaining. When the time comes to end the game, provide a nice prize for the winner- I suggest a nice gift card to a restaurant . Who knows? Maybe this innocent kissing game will spark a new flame for the New Year.

5. Pictures of the Past and Future.

Everyone now a days can be a photographer. For this activity you'll need a working camera and willing participants. Take a photo of each guest at the beginning of the night and towards the end of the night. Watch as your guest loosen up while sipping on champagne and see who's before and after photos are the best transition from 2019 to 2020. Encourage them to have fun with it, buy some props, set up a themed backdrop, or do group photos. Want to make it even more of a challenge? Chose a photo that you or friends took in 2019 and reenact it at the party, not only are the results super amusing but they can be hilarious.

Now that you've got some exciting ideas for ringing in the New Year you can focus less on 2019 and look towards 2020 with a little less stress when it comes to entertaining your guests. May the year 2020 bring you peace, love, and success in all that you do!

Cheers to a new decade!
